The ICC Annual Africa Conference held in Lagos, was a forum for many African participants and speakers from both Anglophone and Francophone countries; and countries in Europe and South-West Asia.
It was an opportunity for all to learn from changing developments and news in arbitration worldwide, ranging from choosing Africa as the seat of arbitration to judicial support of the arbitral process to new business opportunities in the Energy sector and its effect on energy-related disputes.
In particular, our Principal Partner, Mr Mike Igbokwe, SAN was privileged to speak on “The ECOWAS Energy Protocol: Genesis, Objectives and State of Play”, which gave an insight into the business opportunities open to its enforcement and the drawbacks to its enforcement in Nigeria.
